ABOUT MKY
Nestled in the White Mountains of North Conway, NH, Find Yourself Amongst a Welcoming & Inspiring Community at Mountain Kula Yoga!
LAURA ERICKSON | FOUNDER
Laura Kristine Erickson is the founder of Mountain Kula Yoga and Director of the Annual Kula Yoga Fest. After a 20-year career in apparel design in the outdoor and ski industry, her journey into yoga, Ayurveda, and holistic healing led her to open the studio in 2021 with the vision of creating a warm, inclusive space where people can remember the truth of who they are.
Laura was first introduced to yoga in 2005 while designing technical outerwear at Eastern Mountain Sports. It was there she learned the Primary Series of Ashtanga from her colleague Robert Moses, igniting a passion for the physical, emotional, and spiritual depth of yogic living.
She has studied Ayurveda with Cate Stillman, completed a 9-month Heart-Centered Leadership program through the Spiritual Psychology curriculum at the University of Santa Monica, and earned her 300hr YTT with Ashley Turner’s Yoga.Psyche.Soul. Her ongoing studies include Bhakti with Ananda Das, Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra with Katie O’Connell, Theta Healing with Jeffrey Charles Warren, and Meditation with Yashoda Devi Ma.
Laura’s teachings are rooted in her devotion to awakening, healing, and community. When she’s not in the studio, she’s likely walking her pup, cheering on the soccer field, or adventuring on bikes and skis with her husband and two sons.
OUR LOCATION
Our studio space is located in the lower level of the historic red barn at 3358 White Mountain Highway, in North Conway, New Hampshire.
We share the beautiful barn with The Local Grocer Organic Market + Farm Cafe, and Be Well Studios. If you’ve been here before, we welcome you back! If you’re new to the area or visiting, we look forward to sharing this space with you. While you’re here, be sure to check out the Local Grocer market upstairs for a wide variety of locally sourced produce, herbs and supplements, as well as an expansive eco gift shop. Book a massage or energy work session at Be Well Studios, and round out your visit by enjoying breakfast, lunch, or a smoothie at the Table + Tonic Cafe after class!
PARKING & ENTERING THE BUILDING
There is ample parking in the front and back of the barn. Enter through the front or back doors to The Local Grocer, then head downstairs to the yoga studio.
If your class begins or ends outside of market hours (8am-7pm) you’ll need to leave the studio via the back silo stairs. When you exit the back door it locks behind you, as this is an exit only. If you are taking an evening class we encourage you to park in the back parking lot, as this will be closest for you from the back exit. The back entrance will only be available as noted here.
