ABOUT MKY
Nestled in the White Mountains of North Conway, NH, Find Yourself Amongst a Welcoming & Inspiring Community at Mountain Kula Yoga!
LAURA ERICKSON | FOUNDER
Laura is the founder and owner of Mountain Kula Yoga & Director of the Annual Kula Yoga Fest. After a 20 year career in apparel design, her love of yoga, and connection to the Be Well community led her to acquire the yoga space at Be Well Studios and launch Mountain Kula Yoga.
Laura was first introduced to yoga in 2005 while designing technical outerwear at Eastern Mountain Sports Base Camp in Peterborough, NH. It was there that she learned the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga from former employee and co-worker, Robert Moses. Taking classes at Be Well Studios, she continued to deepen her Ashtanga practice and was inspired to pursue teacher training, seeking not only the physical, but the mental and emotional benefits of a yogic lifestyle.
She has studied Ayurveda with Cate Stillman, Heart Centered Leadership and Facilitation via the Spiritual Psychology curriculum of the University of Santa Monica, and took her 300hr YTT from Ashley Turners Yoga.Psyche.Soul teacher training. She continues to deepen into the more subtle practices with the musical Bhakti guidance of Ananda Das, Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra training with Katie O’Connell, and Theta Healing w/ Jeffrey Charles Warren.
When not in the studio or on her mat, Laura enjoys time outside walking her pup, being a soccer mom & spending time as a family on skis and bikes with her husband & 2 sons.
OUR LOCATION
Our new studio space is located in the lower level of the historic red barn at 3358 White Mountain Highway, in North Conway, New Hampshire.
We share the beautiful barn with The Local Grocer, Table + Tonic Cafe, and Be Well Studios. If you’ve been here before, we welcome you back! If you’re new to the area or visiting, we look forward to sharing this space with you. While you’re here, be sure to check out the Local Grocer market upstairs for a wide variety of locally sourced produce, herbs and supplements, as well as an expansive eco gift shop. Book a massage or energy work session at Be Well Studios, and round out your visit by enjoying breakfast, lunch, or a smoothie at the Table + Tonic Cafe after class!
PARKING & ENTERING THE BUILDING
There is ample parking in the front and back of the barn. Enter through the front or back doors to The Local Grocer, then head downstairs to the yoga studio.
If your class begins or ends outside of market hours (8am-7pm) you’ll need to leave the studio via the back silo stairs. When you exit the back door it locks behind you, as this is an exit only. If you are taking an evening class we encourage you to park in the back parking lot, as this will be closest for you from the back exit. The back entrance will only be available as noted here.
