Yoga is a Gift
Yoga is a gift. A soothing balm for the physical body, the mental emotional body, and the soul or your spirit. Maybe you can relate. Most of us, if you are reading this, have found our way into a yoga class, watched and practiced a yoga video, or used a meditation app, that has left us feeling renewed. Somewhere in the stillness, the breathing, the stretching, or strengthening, came a shift. It may have come subtly, or been a loud blaring siren, either way chances are you felt it.
Yoga has a way of shining a light on the parts of us that need attention, making it difficult to ignore.
This is the gift that yoga bestows upon us. It shows us where we’re out of alignment both physically and in our life. It gifts us the self discipline to show up for ourselves day after day. The discernment to know ourselves, trust ourselves, and love ourselves.
And then there will be days when coming to our mat is the last thing we want to do. There will be days when we forget. There will be days when we doubt the benefits, want to give up, pull the covers back over our head and go back to sleep.
But the gift of yoga won’t let you fall back asleep. Once the seed is planted of a new orientation to life, one where you live more vibrantly, are more gentle with yourself and others, & experience alignment on a soul level, there’s no turning back, there’s already been a shift.
And that shift is a gift.
When you keep showing up for yourself to practice yoga, you are actually lying down new neural pathways in the brain affecting brain and nervous system chemistry. Keep showing up.
Show up and you will find that the self discipline of committing to your yoga practice is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. And the best part? You are never alone on this journey. Yoga is about showing up and accepting yourself exactly where you’re at. And whether you join one of our group classes at the studio, attend one of our special events & workshops, or have a 1:1 session with one of our amazing teachers, you are never alone on your yogic journey. You will find teachers and a community that are here to support you. Your personal growth IS communal growth. When one person shifts, we all receive the GIFT.
